Pacific Dawn cleared for Brisbane arrival

Update: Dawn will return to Brisbane this Saturday after a decision to reopen the city’s port operations.

P&O CruisesPacific Dawn will return to Brisbane, to Fisherman Island, this Saturday after cruise W103 was forced to depart from Sydney last Saturday due to the turbulent water and debris caused by the Queensland floods (Brisbane port closed, CP Jan 13).

Cruise W104 will also depart from Fisherman Island as Brisbane’s Portside Cruise Terminal remains closed until all channels have been properly checked for debris and cleared of any dangerous circumstances. Passengers on W104 have been advised to check-in at the Portside Cruise Terminal where a shuttle will transfer them to Fisherman Island.

P&O Cruises has been praised for their quick handling of the schedule change for Pacific Dawn. Once news broke that the Port of Brisbane would be closed for last Saturday’s changeover, P&O Cruises arranged for Dawn to dock in Sydney and all disembarking and embarking passengers had travel arrangements prepared for them by the cruise line.
